Build a Dino Defense Beginner Guide

What you are defending

The Roblox description says your egg is on the dino menu, then tells you to build a fort, set traps, and get ready for the stampede. The how-to-play lines are: place traps and turrets, fight waves of hungry dinos, earn cash for every dino you stop, open crates for weapons, and protect the egg.

The description does not give the egg a hit point value. Do not play as if a wiki number is the egg's HP. Watch the egg, and use the cash you earn. Servers hold 6 players. Other plots on the grass belong to them. Their VALUE labels are not your cash.

The only buttons you need in the first ten minutes

Top bar, left to right: orange Shop, green Fight, blue Base, and 1x. Left rail, top to bottom: Abilities, Shop, and Dinos. Open Dinos before you spend. The index is where the prices are honest and permanent. The shop has a timer.

Press Fight to start the wave. The green button turns into a red Stop button while the wave runs. A bar on the field says Wave: and the number. Your cash is the large green figure at the bottom left. Friend Boost under it read +20% whenever we could see the line clearly.

Buy the green cards in order

Green headers are the first nine waves of dinos. Compsognathus is DINO - WAVE 1: HP 20, DMG 4, SPD 26, $6. That is the whole early purchase. Six cash, from stopping the first dinos, buys it. Triceratops Calf is wave 5, HP 80, DMG 16, SPD 18, $22. Pegomastax is wave 6, HP 40, DMG 7, SPD 22, $8. Microraptor is wave 7, HP 55, DMG 9, SPD 21, $11. Dilophosaurus is wave 9, HP 110, DMG 18, SPD 19, $26.

Compsognathus is still the first buy: it is the wave 1 card and the fastest of the set at SPD 26. Skip nothing under $30 while the headers are green. These are not the shop's $17500 rows.

Wave 10 is Titanhorn

The first red card says TITANHORN, BOSS - WAVE 10, HP 6K, DMG 90, SPD 3.5, $900. SPD 3.5 is slow next to your Compsognathus at SPD 26. The boss has 6,000 HP. Your early DMG pills are 4, 16, 7, 9, and 18. You are not going to delete it with one green dino. You need the cards you already unlocked, placed, and the cash still coming in from each stop.

The Roblox badge Trike Titan says Topple the Trike Titan. There is no index card with that name. Play the Titanhorn card. The badge is the achievement, awarded 1,538,443 times as of 27 September 2026, win rate 78.1%. Compy Tamer, Survive your first wave, is the one you should already have if wave 1 ended.

Do not spend the first cash in the Elite shop

Elite Traps in the restock we filmed were Tar Pit at $180000, Spine Roller at $240000, and Salvage Crane at $300000. Bone Mender on the regular shop was $17500. Your first cards cost $6 to $26. Those are different economies. Buying nothing from the timer shop until the green cards are claimed is the route that matches the prices.

The shop header says New items in and shows a countdown. Even if you save up, the row you wanted can leave. The index card does not do that. CLAIMED on a dino card stays on the card.

Codes, scripts, and other people's lists

People search Build a Dino Defense codes before they search the index. The HUD we recorded has no Codes button, and the official description has no code. Cash is the green number from stopping a dino, with Friend Boost at +20% in these frames. A page that calls Compsognathus Common is not reading this index. The header is green and the card says DINO - WAVE 1.

• Open Dinos and claim Compsognathus for $6.
• Keep the other green cards as their waves show up: calf, Pegomastax, Microraptor, Dilophosaurus.
• Start each wave with Fight. Stop replaces it while the wave runs.
• Expect Titanhorn at wave 10, HP 6K, SPD 3.5.
• Leave Elite Traps alone until index prices stop feeling like the limit.
